The Essentials of Gifted Ed: Endorsement Certification (And Everything in Between) provides a clear, practical overview of what educators need to know when pursuing a gifted education endorsement. The resource effectively balances theory and practice by explaining foundational concepts of giftedness while also addressing real-world classroom strategies, identification challenges, and program implementation. One of its strengths is how it demystifies the certification process and connects it directly to instructional decision-making, rather than treating endorsement requirements as isolated coursework. Overall, it is a useful and accessible guide for educators seeking to better understand gifted learners and strengthen their professional practice through purposeful training.

Out of all the courses I have completed through Wonderfully Wired, this required more of my time and attention to complete the assignments. Because of this, I feel like I am going to retain more and be able to put more of the strategies into action. I appreciate the thoughtful assignments that were created to help us practice and prepare for helping our students with their social emotional needs.

About Wonderfully Wired GT PD

  • Why?

They do NOT teach giftedness to teachers like they should. As teachers, we figure it out when we have a gifted kiddo (or a few) in our class. When our tried-and-true tricks do not work, we made a place for teachers to turn so they can learn about how to support their gifted kids in their class confidently!

  • How?

We are teachers. We are coaches. We know how to teach teachers. We cannot stand that PD that you sit in and then have to figure out how to take that into the classroom. So, we made PD easy. Its fun to read. It is easy to engage with the content. We provide you ready to use resources. We help teach you how to create resources for your kids. Then, you apply it. You get to widen the toolkit. Which is what real professional learning in education SHOULD always be!

  • When?

On your time. We are busy! We are wives and moms and teachers and coaches! We adjusted our classes that we used to give in person, to make them into on-demand PD. So you can make it work for you. On your schedule. PLUS, we made it affordable because we believe teachers should not have to spend hundreds or thousands on professional learning?

Meet Our Course Creators

Jessica Zimmerman, Wonderfully Wired GT Creator and Course Facilitator

Jessica Zimmerman serves on the board of directors for the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented, where she is dedicated to improving outcomes for gifted students at both the school and district levels. In 2021, she received the prestigious Milken Educator Award—often called the "Oscar of teaching"—recognizing her exceptional work as an instructional coach and gifted coordinator. Her transformative impact on education was also highlighted in Phoenix Magazine’s “Great 48.” As someone who was once an underachieving gifted student herself, and now a mother of a highly gifted child, Jessica is passionate about educating, empowering, and advocating for gifted students across Arizona. She saw a need to create classes for her teachers that they could do on their own time that supported them through field experience and additional support with getting their gifted endorsements. She has developed over 200 hours of professional development content and has supported the endorsement of dozens of educators in obtaining their gifted endorsements in Arizona.

What We Do:

From free downloadable resources, professional development classes, and quick tips we know this is the place people come if they want to "get gifted".

FAQ

  • Do these courses count towards my gifted endorsement?

Each state has its own requirements for endorsement. Some states require the professional development to be anchored in gifted standards and aligned to the National Association for Gifted and Talenteds Teacher Prepardness standards. Our courses have direct NAGC alignment and support many educators in applying these professional development hours to their endorsement transcripts so that they can apply for their gifted certifications with their state departments.

  • How do I get my certificate?

The great thing about our course is that it is completely self-led! That means NO waiting on assignments to be approved. You get to move on. So binge the course in one sitting or pace it out! Once you finish, you will have all of the certificates of courses you have completed all downloadable in one place!

  • Why are the courses priced so low?

Our creator decided to keep everything affordable as a way to remove barriers that teachers face in getting research-based, evidence-backed and practical learning to benefit gifted and talented learners. It was really important to her to make sure teachers (who already have to pinch pennies and pay out the wazoo for their classrooms) can access this learning without breaking the bank.

  • What can one expect with the courses?

Every course has a mixture of readings, videos, discussion posts, assignments, survey's and quizzes that really help a learner truly "get gifted". What does that mean? Essentially, you WILL walk away from these courses feeling confident, excited, and ready to implement something you learned from your course. Not like other PD's where you walk away thinking "okay now how do I apply what I just learned?"

  • I am not a gifted teacher but an administrator. Can I still take these courses?

100%! These courses are geared towards educators, administrators, coaches, and coordinators. We know that serving the gifted and talented community happens at all levels. These courses can count towards professional growth and recertification.

  • Why this website? Why these classes? How do I know it is legit?

We are current gifted practioners! As gifted coordinators and coaches we test, teach, and coach giftedness all day, every day! We experience giftedness in our own lives with our own perspective. We wanted to take what we have learned, what we have taught, and how we have helped make learning and life matter for gifted kids and bring it to others. Learning about giftedness shouldn't be a secret! We figured this would be the easiest way to make a change in a busy world! We have experienced BAD PD, so we know what NOT to do (we will not just talk at you, throw you resources, and then just call it a day). We will teach you the research in a fun and engaging (easy-to-read and understand) way, give you practice, give you resources, and have you practice techniques you would then go use with your gifted. That is how PD SHOULD BE!
